Definition: Average number of pupils per qualified teacher at each level of education (pre-primary, primary, lower and upper secondary education) in a given academic year.

A qualified teacher is one who has at least the minimum academic qualifications required for teaching their subjects at the relevant level in a given country in a given academic year.

Qualified teacher: Teacher who has the minimum academic qualifications necessary to teach at a specific level of education in a given country. This is usually related to the subject(s) they teach.
